Hi, we’re Elda and Oscar.
And if you’ve landed here, chances are you’re standing in your kitchen right now—staring at a recipe that feels just a little too complicated, or maybe wondering how to turn whatever’s left in your fridge into something actually delicious. We’ve been there. More times than we can count.
We started ReedCookingTips.com for one simple reason: we believe cooking should bring you joy, not stress.
We’re just a regular couple in our twenties who fell in love over burnt toast and undercooked pasta. Back then, we couldn’t boil an egg without consulting three different websites. But somewhere between our third failed soufflé and our first perfectly crispy roast chicken, we realized something—cooking isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about the flour on your nose, the laughter over a spilled sauce, and the quiet magic of sharing a meal you made with your own two hands.
Today, we’re here to be the friends you can text when your dough won’t rise, your sauce is too salty, or you simply have no idea what to make for dinner. We test every recipe in our own tiny kitchen (the one with the creaky floorboard and the mismatched pans). We make mistakes so you don’t have to—and we share them honestly, because we think there’s as much to learn from a disaster as there is from a triumph.
What we promise you:
- Recipes that actually work for real people (no fancy equipment required)
- Zero judgment—whether you’re a total beginner or a confident home cook
- A little bit of humor because cooking should never feel like a chore
We’re not professional chefs. We’re not food scientists. We’re just Elda and Oscar—two people who genuinely believe that a home-cooked meal has the power to slow down time, bring people together, and make even the ordinary feel special.
So pull up a chair. Grab a wooden spoon. And cook with us.
With flour-dusted love,
Elda & Oscar
